Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Learning Community

The College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences is dedicated to providing a unique and exciting opportunity for students interested in agriculture, or natural or environmental resources majors through its continued support of the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Learning Community.

The College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Learning Community focuses on helping participants become successful CFAES students and future professionals through an approach which emphasizes: practical experiences, mentorship, academic achievement and leadership development.

Specific Components

Features of this learning community include:

  • Opportunity to live with other LC students in same wing/floor of residence hall

  • Significant interaction with faculty, staff and professionals in the field

  • Participation in service-learning initiatives

  • Opportunity to develop leadership skills

  • Study abroad opportunity to Costa Rica to examine regional environmental issues

To apply for this program:

  • A completed Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences learning community application form from the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, 100 Agricultural Administration Bldg, 2120 Fyffe Road, Columbus, OH 43210, (614) 292-6891
  • Students must also complete a Learning Community Interest Form and return it to reslearn@osu.edu or mail to Assistant Director of Academic Initiatives, University Residences and Dining Services, 190 W. Woodruff Ave., Columbus, OH 43210
