Nursing Learning Community
Program Overview:
The Nursing Learning Community offers students interested in nursing the opportunity to network and study together. Activities sponsored by the college acquaint students in the program with faculty and staff, as well as critical issues related to the field. Overall, the Nursing Learning Community provides students with the opportunity for academic support, career exploration and integrated social experiences.
Benefits of this program include:
- Faculty dinners that give students a chance to spend time outside of class with faculty, staff and administrators from the College of Nursing
- Programs in the hall that enhance students' understanding of the fields of nursing and healthcare
- Application workshops, which assist students in completing their application to the nursing program
- Opportunities to have discussions with faculty and staff about topics such as career opportunities, diversity and its impact on healthcare and coping with academic stress
- Volunteer opportunities, on-site visits and interaction with professionals and alumni
Applications Instructions:
- There is an application that must be completed in order to be part of this LC. The application will be available for the 2009-10 school year during winter quarter.
