Although your home at Newark is a place to relax and play, it is also a place to study and learn. The Housing staff’s goal is to help students maximize their academic experience on the Newark campus. The following are some of the academic support provided in Housing:
- Staff will promote an environment conducive to learning and studying as well as living.
- Community study spaces are available in the Residence Hall.
- Staff will provide programming opportunities to help student learn effective study techniques, increase faculty- student interaction outside of the classroom and connect out of class learning with the students’ in-class experiences and future career paths.
- Housing staff will help students get connected to the academic resources available on campus.
Academic Support Service on Campus
Academic Support Services at Ohio State Newark enhances and supports the academic mission of the university while also providing a dynamic out-of-class experience for students. These programs are designed to promote achievement of both educational and personal goals.
The Learning Assistance Center (LAC) is an academic support unit for OSU-N and COTC students. LAC provides FREE programs and services designed to help students sharpen skills necessary to succeed in college.
