Housing spaces for the Newark campus are awarded through a room lottery that will be based on space availability. Housing information for autumn was sent in early April and all contracts received by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 25 were entered into the lottery for a space on campus.
Students should follow the contract material’s step-by-step instructions and return all contract information, including the $200 space reservation fee and $50 application fee. In the application, students will have the chance to tell us a bit about their academic interests and personal habits. Any health concerns or disabilities that require a special assignment should be indicated on the contract and explained in an attached letter.
Please note, the lottery will determine if a student will be reserved a space on campus, but doesn’t guarantee a particular type of space. If a name is drawn and that student has submitted a roommate request, the request can only be honored if both roommates’ names are drawn as a result of the lottery.
After the lottery, all students will receive an e-mail notifying them if they received a space in campus housing. The waiting list will be maintained throughout the summer and, as spaces materialize, the next person on the list will be contacted.
