Annual Events

Residence Life hosts free events throughout for the year for all Ohio State students, staff, faculty and familes. Complimentary, roundtrip transportation is provided to/from campus for these annual community-building events.

OSU Night at COSI

Embrace your inner scientist at OSU Night at COSI with The Office of Student Life’s Residence Life! This night offers Ohio State students, faculty and staff to check out the famous science museum after hours for free with a BuckID. Be sure to arrive early because the first 1,000 guests will receive a free meal combo ticket! Buses will run to and from COSI starting at 6:45 p.m. until 11 p.m. Campus stop locations include Drake Union, Ohio Union and Archer House.

  • When is the OSU Night at COSIevent being held?
    OSU Night at COSI is being held on Friday, February 21 from 7 to 11 p.m.

  • Where is the OSU Night at COSI event being held?
    OSU Night at COSI is being held downtown at COSI - the Columbus Museum of Science and Industry, located at 333 West Broad Street Columbus, OH 43215.

  • How much does OSU Night at COSI cost?
    The event is free and open to students, faculty, staff and affiliates at Ohio State and the OSU Medical Center.
  • Is there transportation available from campus to COSI? Is transportation accessible?
    Yes. There is bus transportation available from Ohio State's Columbus Campus to COSI from Archer House, the Ohio Union, and Drake Union. Buses will be looping every 15-20 minutes between COSI and campus. There will be accessible buses available on all bus routes.

  • If I opt to drive how much is parking?
    The surface parking lot across the street from COSI will feature hourly parking for our guests who opt to drive. Parking will also be available in the underground garage for a discounted rate of $6 per car.

  • Can I bring a friend/family member/significant other?
    Yes, you may bring any guests you’d like - family friends, family members and significant others are welcome! 

  • Will I need to bring my BuckID?
    Yes, you will need to swipe your BuckID to enter the facility. 

  • Will there be food and beverages available?
    Free meals will be given to the first 1,000 guests. There will be additional food and beverages available for purchase throughout the evening.

  • What exhibits will be open for visitors?
    All COSI exhibits will be open and available for our guests to explore!

A Night at the Columbus Museum of Art

Student Life’s Residence Life invites students, faculty, staff and their families to attend their annual signature event, A Night at the Columbus Museum of Art at the Columbus Museum of Art. Attendees will be able to explore each of the galleries showcasing pieces from a variety of artistic styles. A continuous shuttle from campus will provide free transportation for the duration of the event with stops at the Drake Union, Ohio Union and Buckeye Village.

  • What will I see at the museum?
    The entire museum will be open for Ohio State students, faculty, staff, and their guests. To see what’s currently on at the Columbus Museum of Art, visit their website at https://www.columbusmuseum.org/.

  • How do I get to the Museum?
    We will have buses circulating from the Drake Union, Ohio Union, and Buckeye Village bus stops to take you to the Columbus Museum of Art! You can expect a bus to arrive at each location every 15-20 minutes. 

    You can also drive to the Museum yourself and park in the CMA parking lots (CMA parking rates may apply).

  • Is food available at the venue?
    We will have some light appetizers, but not a full meal. We recommend eating beforehand as the Museum Café will not be open during our visit.
