Orientation Housing Positions

Orientation Housing Assistant Position

Orientation Housing Assistants assist with housing and meal accommodations for visiting first year students and their parents or guests as they attend the two-day orientation.  They assign students to rooms, print billing statements, prepare the front desk for check-in and submit daily meal counts to the dining facilities.  They also staff the Taylor Tower front desk and are responsible for answering phones, answering guest questions, filing, and other office duties as assigned.  The Orientation Housing Assistants will also assist with a parent session answering questions regarding housing, meals, and general student life activities.  They may also be asked to assist the dining facilities or housekeeping as needed.  They are also auxiliary Housing Services members who will assist the Housing Services Office with projects and room inspectios.

Compensation
An hourly wage of $8.55 in addition to free housing and $600 Buck ID deposit for meals.

Due to the rotating schedule of this position you would not be able to be enrolled in summer classes or hold another job during the duration of the Orientation Housing Assistant contract term.

Orientation Housing Manager Position

Orientation Housing Managers will supervise the Orientation Housing Assistants (14 members). Responsibilities would include assisting with training the staff, conducting staff meetings, planning and organizing staff development opportunities, as well as preparing the staff schedule. The managers will be available during the daily check in process to assist the staff with check in procedures as well as handle any complaints initiated by students or guests. The Orientation Housing managers will be responsible for preparing the cash, credit card and check bankings and providing Dining Services with lunch counts. They will facilitate tours of the residence hall model rooms. The managers will also assist Dining, Housekeeping, Risk and Emergency Management and Housing Services with duties as needed throughout their contract term including duties as assigned.

Compensation: $9.30 per hour with an average of 30-38 hours per week; a free room on campus; $600 BuckID money for meal purposes.

Dates: May 13th, 2019 - August 3rd, 2019. 

Some Spring Semester Training is required; tentatively scheduled for Saturday, March 30th, 2019 (Meet & Greet).
