Halls:

Focusing on supporting the academic curriculum, University Housing partners with the Women in Engineering program within the College of Engineering to provide undergraduate female engineering students a high-quality academic and social experience. Living with other female students who are studying engineering gives you an opportunity to be part of a smaller community that will assist you in being a successful student and a successful engineer.

Learning Community Highlights

  • Early Arrival Program focused on assisting students in their transitions to the study of engineering and the Ohio State University
  • Specialized programming around topics relevant to engineering, such as tours, projects and skill-building. 
  • Opportunities to interact with faculty, staff, and professionals in the engineering comunity
  • Regular social events with the opportunity to first- and second-years in WIE to form relationships
  • Seminar course on Women in Engineering with other students in the Learning Community

Academic Course

  • Students participate in a 1 credit hour Women in Engineering seminar

How to Apply (New Students)

  • Students interested in being a member of the Women in Engineering Learning Community should complete the Learning Community Application by April 16, 2018. No late applications will be accepted. You do not have to wait until you are accepted to Ohio State and/or receive your housing contract to apply. 
  • Housing Contracts are sent to your OSU email account based upon your paid acceptance to the University beginning in March.
  • Please make sure your contract and space reservation fee are received no later than May 31, 2018 in order to ensure your eligibility to participate in a Learning Community. 
  • On your contract, please make sure you select North Campus as your requested area of residence.
  • Please note that all students in Learning Communities are required to reside in a space within the Learning Community and live with other Learning Community participants. Learning Community students may only request roommates accepted into the same LC.

How to Apply (Current Students)

  • Current OSU students who will be be in their second year during the 2018-2019 school year and are interested in joining or returning to the Women in Engineering Learning Community should complete the Learning Community Application no later than January 26, 2018. Completing this application does not guarantee housing in an Ohio State Residence Hall or a specific room type.  You must submit your reselection form by the University Housing deadline in order to participate.  Your housing reselection information will arrive at your OSU e-mail account at a later date. 
  • Please note that all students in Learning Communities are required to reside in a space within the Learning Community and live with other Learning Community participants. Learning Community students may only request roommates accepted into the same LC.
  • Change of campus students should apply through this (the current student) application and must also contact Housing Assignments no later than January 26, 2018 at 614-292-8266 or housing@osu.edu to ensure they are included in the reselection process and eligible for Learning Community participation.
