Gender-Inclusive Housing Information
Student Life Housing and Residence Education supports the academic and social success of all its residents and is committed to providing spaces for students to feel at home. One of the ways this goal is achieved is by offering a wide range of on-campus housing options. In order to provide support for the needs of current and incoming students, gender-inclusive housing options are available.
Locations
The number of gender-inclusive rooms on campus is based on student demand. We offer a gender-inclusive living experience in individual rooms or apartments across campus.
Same sex room/apartment: Students indicating a preference for a same sex room/apartment will be able to search for and/or be assigned with a roommate(s) of their same legal sex (as noted in BuckeyeLink).
- All residents living in the room will be the same sex and gender. Bathrooms on the floor that are accessible by multiple students at one time are designated by sex. At least one bathroom in each wing in remodeled facilities is single-occupancy and includes a toilet and shower with a separately locking door.
Gender-inclusive room/apartment: Students indicating a preference for a gender-inclusive room will be able to search for and/or be assigned with a roommate(s) regardless of legal sex (as noted in BuckeyeLink). Gender inclusive housing strives to maintain a welcome and inclusive environment and is available of student of any gender identity.
- Residents living in the room may be of any sex or gender. Other rooms in the wing may be of any living configuration. Bathrooms on the floor are all single-occupancy and include a toilet and shower with a separately locking door.
Academic-Year Housing
All housing at ATI is academic-year housing. Academic-year housing allows students to remain living in the apartment between autumn and spring semesters and spring break. There is an additional charge of $125 per year for academic-year housing.
