How to Apply-Continuing Students

 

1. Choose the option that best describes your housing plans for the 2024-2025 academic year:

  • Live on campus
  • Live in a Greek approved facility
  • Live at home or with a Parent-Close Relative that resides within a 25-mile radius of campus
  • You will no longer be attending The Ohio State University for the next academic year
  • Contract Release Fee (Housing Rate III) and dining fees for each semester of the housing contract obligation

 

2. Read the Terms and Conditions and Undergraduate Addendum

Read and understand the Terms and Conditions and the Undergraduate Addendum of the contract you are about to acknowledge online. The contract is a legally binding document that remains in effect for the entire academic year. If you have questions, call us at (614) 292-8266 before accessing the online housing contract.

 3.  Consider Second-Year Transformational Experience Program (STEP)

Students who graduated from high school in 2023 are eligible to participate in the Second-year Transformational Experience Program (STEP).  STEP is designed to focus on student success and development and will allow students the opportunity to engage in activities that cater to their individual interests and needs. Through interaction with faculty, students will be able to develop tools for life and build essential network connections. By fulfilling the program requirements, students will be eligible to receive a fellowship of up to $2,000 to use towards an experience they might otherwise not be able to do.

 4Fully complete the Reselection Portal

Before you access and complete all the steps, read this website carefully and understand the contract obligations as well as the fees and due dates. 

Single rooms require a separate application, available in the online reselection process.

 5. Space Reservation Fee

The $300 contract space reservation fee paid when submitting your two-year term housing contract is being held pending on-campus residence during Spring Semester, 2024.

 6. Deadline for Reservations/Cancellations

Please note, if you do not complete the reselection process, your housing placement will be made by the Housing and Residence Education staff based on space availability.  The deadline to notify the Housing and Residence Education staff of any changes to your housing plans and provide required exemption documentation is March 15, 2024; NO exceptions will be made.

 

Next Steps:

Roommate Groups: After spring break those who completed the housing renewal/reselection of their housing contract by the deadline will be emailed and have the opportunity to create and verify a roommate group.  You also have the opportunity to search for roommates from other students who renewed/reselected their housing contract.  Roommate group size limit is 4 people

Room Select: In early April students will be sent their random timeslot where based on when your timeslot opens you will be able to go out and select a room based on what is still available.

After Room Select Closes: When room select closes for everyone we will shortly after email preliminary housing assignments with roommate contact information.  Also at that time the preliminary room change request will open if you wish to put in a change to your housing assignment.
