Community Advisors
Community Advisors are undergraduates (3 years post high school graduation), graduate-level or non-traditional student employees who contribute to the facility operation, resident support and administration of the Gateway Apartments or the Neil Building. Specifically, Community Advisors are responsible for assisting students in crisis, conducting community meetings, planning and implementing cultural, educational, social and informational programs, serving as a resource to residents, aiding students in transition to the university, regular on-call duties as assigned, and assisting with the management of their residential community.

To be eligible for the CA position please note the following:
- In order to be assigned to a Community Advisor position, a student must be enrolled as a full-time student and in good academic standing according to the standards of the graduate or undergraduate program. All grades are based on the University’s last published record (the previous grade report). If the student is new to Ohio State and does not yet have an academic record, student understands that eligibility may be considered based on the record from a previous institution.
- Students must maintain a 2.5 cumulative and semester GPA. All grades are based on the University’s most recent record.
- Students must enroll for a minimum of eight (8) graduate hours (4 graduate hours in the summer) or twelve (12) undergraduate hours, with a maximum of sixteen (16) graduate credit hours or eighteen (18) undergraduate credit hours per semester.
- Students may not hold another university job position that is greater than 10 hours per week.
- Students who hold another GTA or GRA position are not eligible for the position.
- Students must be available on Saturday August 10, 2025 starting at noon for fall staff training.
- Students must be available for daytime paraprofessional training that typically takes place the 2 weeks prior to move-in. This will entail training during the timeframe of 8:00a – 5:00p with some evening/weekend commitments.
- Students will work over winter and spring breaks in an on-call capacity and must be available during that time.
- Undergraduates must be 3 years post high school graduation to be eligible for the position.
- To be hired for the role you must be one of the following:
- Enrolled in a current OSU graduate/professional program
- Non-OSU student who has been admitted to an OSU graduate/professional program for spring semester (position will be contingent on successful admission to OSU)
