Return Home to a Learning Community in Your Second Year!

Make your second year the best year yet – call a Learning Community home! A Learning Community is a group of students who live together on a residence hall floor with a common major, career, and/or personal interests. In 2015, US News and World Report recognized The Ohio State University’s Learning Communities as an outstanding initiative that supports student success.

As a second-year student, you have the opportunity to apply to return to your current Learning Community, join a different Learning Community, or participate in a Learning Community for the first time.

Twelve of our Learning Communities feature unique opportunities for second-year students that support relationship building with students from across campus, skill building in preparation for the internship search via mock interviews, and the development of enhanced leadership skills. Read this booklet to explore your options and learn more!

Applications are available here and are due on Wednesday, February 1, 2017. Please email with questions.

Please note: Completing this Learning Community Application does not guarantee acceptance into a Learning Community during your second year. This application also does not secure housing. To secure housing, you must also complete the housing reselection process. Information about this process will be sent to you via email in early Spring 2017.

Change of campus students must contact Housing Assignments no later than February 1, 2017 at (614) 292-8266 or to ensure that they are included in the reselection process and eligible for a Learning Community.
