Time: Monday, April 12, 2021 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Location: Zoom
Studies have shown that survivors of sexual assault are more likely to suffer from negative body image and disordered eating. Although the body acceptance movement is gaining momentum, the intersectionality of body image and sexual assault is often left out of the conversation. Join the Student Wellness Center as we dive into the connection between body image and sexual assault. Suggestions on healing body image within the context of sexual assault trauma will be discussed. Come learn how to be a critical viewer of the media and how to de-center the body as the primary source of self-worth.
