Creating the Extraordinary Student Experience: Office of Student Life

Gender Identity and Body Acceptance

Time: Friday, February 26, 2021 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Location: Virtual

Admission: - RSVP Required

Gender identity has a great impact on how someone expresses and views their body. For trans and nonbinary individuals, gender dysphoria can be incredibly distressing and make body acceptance and positivity difficult. At this event, SDES and PrideOSU will discuss some ways that dysphoria is experienced as well as coping strategies, as some of our members have personal experience with both. We will then talk about how gender identity intersects with other mental health issues and provide info on resources located in the Columbus community. This event will also cover some ways that cisgender people can support people whose bodies do not conform to the gender binary.
